Kuala Lumpur, 11 February 2026 – The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has announced the return of the highly anticipated MATTA Fair from 3 to 5 April 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), reinforcing Malaysia’s push to accelerate tourism growth ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
The 58th edition of the MATTA Fair will span 40,820 square metres across 10 exhibition halls, featuring more than 2,000 booths from 307 participating companies, including licensed travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and tourism service providers. The event is expected to attract strong industry participation and significant visitor turnout, reflecting renewed confidence in Malaysia’s tourism sector.
MATTA President and Organising Chairman of MATTA Fair April 2026, Nigel Wong, said the fair continues to play a crucial role in strengthening trust between tourism providers and consumers while offering travellers a reliable platform to plan their holidays.
“MATTA is here to instil trust amongst our visitors. Over the years, we have strengthened that trust between our members and the travelling public. Every exhibitor at MATTA Fair consists of licensed and credible industry players including tour and travel operators, hoteliers, and travel-related service providers. This ensures visitors can plan their holidays with peace of mind,” he said.
Strong Industry Partnerships Reinforce Tourism Growth
This year’s MATTA Fair is supported by a strong lineup of strategic partners and sponsors, highlighting the importance of collaboration in revitalising Malaysia’s tourism ecosystem.
RHB Bank Berhad has been named the Exclusive Platinum Sponsor, while Malaysia Aviation Group joins as the Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor. Visit Malaysia 2026 has also been confirmed as the Strategic Partner, aligning the fair with the national tourism campaign aimed at attracting millions of international visitors.
These partnerships reflect growing confidence in Malaysia’s tourism recovery and its long-term potential as a leading travel destination in Southeast Asia.
Sustainability Takes Centre Stage in Tourism Development
In line with global trends toward responsible travel, MATTA continues to promote sustainability through its MATTA Eco & Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MESTI).
The MESTI pavilion will feature over 45 exhibitors showcasing environmentally responsible tourism products, eco-friendly services, and sustainable travel solutions.
This initiative supports Malaysia’s broader objective of developing a sustainable tourism industry that balances economic growth with environmental preservation.
Sustainability has become increasingly important as travellers seek eco-conscious travel options and destinations that prioritise environmental protection and cultural preservation.
Interactive Experiences and Exclusive Travel Deals to Drive Visitor Engagement
MATTA Fair April 2026 will offer visitors a comprehensive travel planning experience, combining exclusive travel deals with interactive activities and promotional contests.
Visitors who spend RM100 or more at the fair will qualify for the Buyers’ Contest, offering opportunities to win travel-related prizes. The Ride & Reels Contest will also encourage visitors to share their MATTA Fair experiences through social media, with technology prizes up for grabs.
These initiatives aim to enhance visitor engagement while supporting the travel industry’s digital transformation.
Tourism Sector Positioned for Strong Growth Ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026
The return of MATTA Fair reflects the strengthening outlook for Malaysia’s tourism industry, which is expected to benefit from rising global travel demand, improved connectivity, and government initiatives to boost visitor arrivals.
Visit Malaysia 2026 is projected to attract millions of international tourists, generating substantial economic activity across hospitality, aviation, retail, and related sectors.
Tourism remains a critical pillar of Malaysia’s economy, supporting employment, investment, and economic diversification.
Events such as MATTA Fair play an important role in stimulating travel demand, supporting industry players, and reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a competitive global tourism destination.
MATTA Fair Reinforces Malaysia’s Position as Regional Tourism Hub
