Amazon Launches AI Healthcare Assistant on Website and Mobile App

SEATTLE, 11 March 2026 – Amazon has introduced a new artificial-intelligence healthcare assistant on its website and mobile application, expanding the company’s push into digital health services and AI-powered medical support.

The tool, known as Health AI, is designed to help users access medical information, assess symptoms and connect with healthcare providers through Amazon’s platform. Initially introduced earlier this year for users of Amazon’s healthcare service One Medical, the assistant has now been expanded for broader public use.

AI-Powered Health Guidance

The AI assistant is capable of answering questions about more than 30 common non-emergency health conditions, including acne, diabetes and sleep apnea. It can also help explain medical test results, answer medication-related queries and provide guidance on next steps for care.

Users can interact with the assistant directly on Amazon’s website or through its mobile app, where the AI delivers conversational guidance similar to a chatbot. The system is designed to streamline health information access while directing users to professional care when needed.

Connecting Patients With Medical Providers

Beyond providing health information, Amazon’s AI assistant can also help users connect with licensed medical professionals.

Patients who need further support can book a telehealth consultation through Amazon’s healthcare services, with virtual consultations priced at around US$29 for non-members, depending on promotional offers or subscription coverage.

The assistant is able to review users’ health data and certain purchase histories related to medical products to offer more personalised guidance, though it does not provide full treatment plans or replace professional medical diagnosis.

Amazon Expands Its Digital Healthcare Ambitions

The launch highlights Amazon’s broader strategy to expand into healthcare through technology and AI-driven services.

The company has steadily built a digital health ecosystem that includes telehealth services, pharmacy offerings and medical memberships through One Medical. AI tools are increasingly being integrated to improve patient engagement, automate administrative tasks and simplify access to care.

Earlier this year, Amazon’s cloud division also introduced AI-enabled healthcare platforms designed to help hospitals manage patient scheduling, documentation and clinical workflows more efficiently.

AI’s Growing Role in Healthcare

The move reflects a broader trend across the healthcare industry, where artificial intelligence is being used to support clinical decision-making, patient triage and remote care services.

Virtual health assistants powered by AI are increasingly being deployed by hospitals, telehealth platforms and technology companies as a way to improve healthcare accessibility while reducing administrative workload for providers.

As major technology firms race to integrate AI into healthcare, Amazon’s latest launch signals how digital assistants could become a central interface between patients and medical systems in the future.
