KUALA LUMPUR: AmanahRaya Trustees Bhd (ART), a wholly owned unit of Amanah Raya Bhd, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CoKeeps Sdn Bhd to explore the establishment of Digital Asset Custodian (DAC) services in Malaysia.
The collaboration is positioned as a strategic move to advance Malaysia’s digital finance infrastructure, strengthen investor confidence, and align with the government’s push to accelerate the digital economy.
According to a joint statement, the partnership combines ART’s longstanding fiduciary and trusteeship expertise with CoKeeps’ role as Malaysia’s first Securities Commission-registered digital asset custodian. The companies said the initiative will also serve as a testbed for tokenisation projects, broadening the scope of services for corporate clients, private mandates, individual clients, and estate planning.
Bridging fiduciary trust with digital transformation
ART chief executive officer Zainudin Suhaimi said digital assets are reshaping wealth management and trustees must adapt to this shift.
“By bridging traditional fiduciary roles with cutting-edge infrastructure, AmanahRaya Trustees is ensuring it remains a trusted partner in a rapidly transforming financial environment,” he said.
CoKeeps CEO Suhanna Hussein added that the collaboration is about building a secure, compliant, and future-ready ecosystem.
“This initiative is fully aligned with the government’s agenda to accelerate Malaysia’s digital economy and foster financial innovation. The partnership will ensure that the custodial framework is built on strong governance, compliance, and risk management — laying the groundwork for tokenisation readiness and long-term value creation,” she said.
Positioning Malaysia for tokenisation
The move reflects growing momentum in Malaysia’s digital asset and fintech ecosystem, where regulated custodial infrastructure is seen as critical to safeguard investors, enable tokenisation, and support institutional adoption.
