KUALA LUMPUR, 28 September 2025 — Chinese actress and Melaka Tourism Friendship Ambassador Fan Bingbing has expressed deep admiration for Malaysia’s beloved icon Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, revealing that the national singer’s artistry motivated her to explore singing in Malay. During a press conference, Fan shared her desire to learn Malay songs from Siti and indicated openness to future musical collaboration.
At the launch event for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, Fan attended Siti’s performance on 27 September and called it “truly extraordinary.” She said she was captivated by how Siti commanded the stage and delivered her closing set with brilliance. “If the opportunity arises, I would love to learn Malay songs from her, which could also serve as a form of cultural collaboration,” Fan said.
Fan added that she had presented Siti with products from her own brand as a gesture of respect, and she was delighted to have met and photographed with the national star. She also expressed her interest in partnering with both local and international artists to promote Melaka globally through the arts.

Fan’s remarks align with her broader role as Melaka’s tourism ambassador. She said that her reappointment for the 2026 campaign reflects the warm reception she has received in the state, and she is eager to highlight Melaka’s heritage, cuisine, murals, and cultural communities to a global audience. Though no firm projects have been announced yet, Fan indicated that ideas like new murals, promotional videos, or film shoots are under consideration.
